Job Taker Journey 1

Visualize how customers experience your product or service and find opportunities for improvement.

:bust-in-silhouette:Irina

Irina is from Ukraine and her background is a primary school teacher. She is a war refugee who came to Slovakia 2 months ago. Irina is 45 years old and speaks Russian and Ukrainian. Now she is in a refugee camp in Eastern Slovakia. She has a degree in Pedagogics. She also earned a certificate in first aid and caregiving. She is left with her 12-year-old son as she has lost her husband in the war.

🎯 User goal

Irina needs help with finding a stable job in Slovakia or Czechia and a place to live (ideally in the capital cities). She has a historical affinity to Czechoslovakia as she comes from Western Ukraine. She wonders what sorts of jobs are available for someone like her and what she needs to achieve / learn in order to be a relevant candidate. Next, she would like to settle in one of these countries permanently and allow her son to pursue a full education there while avoiding any army conscription.

Scenario

We’re going to map Irina’s first experience with PW platform that she hopes can help fulfill her goals.

User backstory

Irina has no disabilities and doesn’t need any support from a psychologist.

She has some savings to finance transport, basic living needs but not enough to pay rent.

She is used to an urban lifestyle with frequent social contacts and is somewhat frustrated by the countryside environment she is currently in.

She longs for a safe, modern environment and, perhaps, a supportive life partner further down the road.

Her professional preference is to stay in a sector that helps others (primary education, healthcare, etc.)

User action Once accepted in the refugee camp, Irina gets an info package in Ukrainian language that also introduces PW. Encouraged by her son, Irina uses her phone to access PW’s home page. She tries to find out whether or not it is of any use to her. Clearly being the PW target group, Irina decides to sign up. She tries it first on her phone but is ready to switch to her laptop later if needed. After finding some quiet time, Irina uses her laptop to complete the assessments. She wants her son by her side. Upon completing the assessment, Irina immediately sees her Personal Pitch screen. She examines all its parts one by one. She decides to complete the missing parts right away and also tries to switch to the Slovak language version. Next, Irina wants to see what kind of potential job opportunities exist for her. By clicking on the button, she sees vacancies she is potentially ready for but also those where she still needs to close some gaps. As she examines the vacancies, there is a sudden “Hello” from the Buddy. The Buddy briefly explains their role and how they can be of genuine help. She decides to discover more. After being encouraged by the Buddy, Irina puts the first item into her Development Plan: online Slovak language course The next day, Irina decides to apply for a job in Bratislava that she remembers didn’t require fluent Slovak. Just to try how it works.
